Our new El Segundo facility supports prototyping, assembly, testing, and deployment of complex electromechanical systems as we scale production and customer delivery.
Position Summary
The Technician I is an entry-level, hands-on role supporting the assembly, testing, and maintenance of Launchpad Build’s hardware systems. This position works under close supervision and follows established procedures and work instructions. The role includes occasional travel to customer sites for mechanical commissioning, on-site troubleshooting, and installation support. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, comfortable with travel requirements, and eager to develop technical skills in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble basic mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical components in accordance with drawings, schematics, and work instructions
- Support subassembly builds, system-level assembly, and basic integration tasks
- Perform routine inspections, functional checks, and basic testing
- Identify, document, and report defects, nonconformances, and safety concerns
- Assist with troubleshooting and rework under the direction of senior technicians or engineers
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in compliance with company policies and Cal/OSHA requirements
- Accurately complete production, quality, and test documentation
- Follow all safety procedures, including required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Participate in continuous improvement, 5S, and standard work initiatives
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or vocational coursework preferred
- 0–2 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, or a related hands-on role
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand and power tools
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Attention to detail and basic problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, on-site production environment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods

Work Environment
- Manufacturing and production floor environment
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, tools, and equipment
- Noise levels typical of a manufacturing facility
- Use of PPE may be required
- Occasional travel required (approximately 20% of the time)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $20-$26 per hour, or $41,600 – $54,080 per year.
- This position is salaried and classified as non-exempt under California wage and hour laws
- Eligible for meal periods and rest breaks in accordance with California law
